About the Artist

Timothy G. Latham was born in Northern California in 1965. The third of four boys raised by LeRoy and JoAnn Latham. His father worked in the furniture and design trade in California and Arizona. His work has proved to have a great influence on Tim's work ethic and style. His mother created a wholesome and healthy atmosphere at home where his artistic talents were always encouraged.

In the mid seventies the family moved to the suburbs of Chicago where LeRoy had a showroom in the Merchandise Mart. From time to time Tim would work with his father at the Mart setting up displays. Late at night wandering the dimly lit halls and peering into the closed showrooms exposed him to a wide variety of art and accessories. Always impressed by the different mediums and styles an eclectic taste was developed.

In the eighties after school he began working as an auto mechanic. He was very interested in how things of a mechanical nature work. This lead to a career in the manufacturing sector where he worked as a fabricator, welder and maintenance technician.

Early in 2004 he decided to put together a studio and work on his art full-time.
